Moxa has Industry Associations with: Profibus & Profinet International, EhterCAT Technology Group, Microsoft Windows Embedded Partner, CiA: CAN in Automation Association, ODVA, ModBus IDA and MCAA: Measurement Control & Automation Association.
Moxa’s Network Serial Ethernet Devices are a natural next step from serial to serial devices. A serial device server talks bi-directionally between Ethernet and serial formats and allows you to manage, access and configure equipment and projects anywhere in the world over the internet.
These network enabled serial devices are easy to use with serial to RS-232 or RS-422/485 and have anywhere from 1 to 16 port selections.
What is Serial to Ethernet?
Moxa’s Serial Device Servers are devices that move data from serial to Ethernet and allows engineers to have the best of both worlds. The “serial world” is that of sensors, modems actuators and RS-485 networks that relays data from devices and computers. The “Ethernet world” is the world of Network Interface Card NIC’s for short, the internet and open protocols moving data and information from host to host.
What type of applications are Moxa’s serial Ethernet device servers used in: Campus Attendance and Entrance Control systems, Medical Equipment Data Acquisition, Remote Environmental Monitoring
Systems, Remote Management of Rack Servers and Power Distribution Management Systems just to mention a few.
The Moxa Serial to Ethernet Product Family includes Secure Terminal Servers the NPort 6000 series of secure serial device servers that offer users reliable and most importantly secure serial to Ethernet connectivity. Other members of the serial to Ethernet Moxa product family are NPort 5600 Series that have 16-port RS-232 or RS-422/485 Serial Device Servers, NPort 5110 Series which are 1-port RS-232 Serial Device Servers, the CN2510 Series 8/16 Port RS-232 Terminal Servers and the NE-4120S 10/100 Mbps Embedded Device Server for RS-232 Devices.
