Superior Performance Built for Industrial Applications
Moxa AWK 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 solutions provide speeds as high as 1.775 Gbps and 80 MHz channels for demanding IIoT applications. Wi-Fi 6 features multi-user multiple input, multiple output (MU-MIMO) and orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA), both of which enhance wireless performance. MU-MIMO increases data throughput for multiple users simultaneously, accommodating up to eight spatial streams for uploads and downloads. OFDMA increases the overall efficiency of the spectrum during high-speed, low-latency communication and assists with many users simultaneously operating in congested areas. For instance, this feature allows the AMRs that use one warehouse access point to deliver flexible operations without any disruptions to signal quality or bandwidth. Consequently, these performance-enhancing features are the robust backbone of industrial Wi-Fi 6, enabling this technology to be an irreplaceable choice for the real-time data-rich applications of today's industrial automation ecosystem.
More Reliable Wireless Communication
Utilizing Moxa’s AWK Series, which features Turbo Roaming with millisecond-level handovers for continuous wireless connectivity, you can enjoy uncompromised wireless connectivity in dynamic networking scenarios. The AWK is also designed to be rugged, allowing it to overcome electrical interference and withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 75°C, resulting in reliability in environments with various challenges.
Comprehensive Network Security Protection
Moxa’s cybersecure AWK Wi-Fi 6 Series was designed with several features, based on IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2, that provide additional protection for critical OT systems from cyberthreats and consistent operational performance. It included support for the latest WPA3 data encryption and network address translation (NAT) features that help meet the compliance requirements of secure-by-design networks and make for simple outbound connections.
Smooth Machine Integration
Moxa's compact AWK Series can be incorporated into machines with ease. The AWK-1160 Series is an entry-level Wi-Fi 6 series with the smallest standalone industrial Wi-Fi 6 APs/Clients on the market that specifically fit into small machine cabinets. Furthermore, the AWK-1165A and AWK-1165C Series have 5 embedded switch ports to create more opportunities for inclusion and smaller machines.
Straightforward Network Management
With integrated AeroMesh technology, enhanced AWK models implement self-forming and self-healing
mesh
networks, which sustain an unwavering level of communication in dynamic environments. In addition,
you
are able to visualize all wireless topologies and link status in real-time with the MXview One
Wireless
add-on, empowering teams to focus on monitoring and troubleshooting.
Universal model support provides further streamlined multinational deployment. With configurable RF
region settings, these industrial Wi-Fi access points meet regulatory compliance for global markets,
reducing the burden for regulatory certification during rollout.
Simple, Reliable Industrial Wi-Fi With AeroMesh
As we see an increase in digitalization, the demands on industrial wireless networks
for greater
reliability and mobility are increasing. With the adoption of advanced AWK Series hardware, Moxa's
AeroMesh solution expands coverage and improves reliability, especially within extreme, demanding
industrial applications such as manufacturing or mining that absolutely cannot have any
interruptions in connectivity.
With AeroMesh creating wireless paths that can heal themselves, Moxa can help you avoid costly
Ethernet cabling by creating a self-managing wireless network that drastically reduces the time
needed for configuration. The AeroMesh solution is reliable, scalable, and easy to manage. These
features make this technology a perfect fit for a factory floor, a multi-million dollar oil and gas
site, or an isolated mine site. Take your pick. This technology will not let you down.
Self-forming, Low-Latency Industrial Mesh Networks
Moxa’s AeroMesh forming technology intelligently discovers and activates the most appropriate
wireless path for mesh networks in hard-to-wire locations, minimizes cabling expense, and saves
time and effort for Wi-Fi backhaul deployments.
For applications with critical data such as remote monitoring, robotic control, and automated
inspections, AeroMesh enables five-hop transmissions that can reduce installation costs and
provide long-distance transmissions. Additionally, the ultra-low 2 to 3 ms per hop latency
improves performance even further for high-intensity applications such as real-time video
streaming (without the lag).
Multi-MPR redundancy for always-on Industrial Connectivity
Network component redundancy is essential for those industrial applications where uptime is life-changing. AeroMesh’s Multi-MPRs redundancy provides backup forwarding nodes to minimize the risk of network disruptions and ensure that critical data can still be transmitted even if one mesh portal (MPR) fails.
Seamless Roaming Infrastructure for Factory Inspections
Industrial Wi-Fi provides the communication backbone while AI acts as the brain, enabling robotic dogs to perform tasks such as inspecting hazardous environments. In large-scale smart factories, which often span thousands of square meters, it’s costly and time-consuming to extend network coverage to meet the requirements of modern applications. Moxa’s AWK Series industrial Wi-Fi solutions with AeroMesh technology help build reliable, adaptive Wi-Fi networks while reducing installation and management costs.
Learn More** The construction of an AeroMesh backhaul and multi-MPRS redundancy is only supported by the advanced AWK-3262A and AWK-4262A Series running firmware version 2.0 (available in Q3, 2025).
*** The listed 2-3 ms per-hop latency is based on test results using test infrastructure under optimal conditions. Actual latency is subject to environmental conditions.
Bring the Power of Wi-Fi 6 to Your Industrial Settings
For forward-looking industries, the Moxa AWK Wi-Fi 6 Series features more than just fast wireless. It provides a future-ready platform to meet the growing demand for data transport, real-time control, and the connectivity of mobile devices.
