Managing large numbers of serial devices across industrial
networks can quickly become difficult when space, security, and centralized
communication are all critical requirements. The NPort 6400/6600 Series is a
secure terminal server designed to connect large numbers of serial devices (up
to 32 per unit) to an Ethernet network using a single IP address. It is an
ideal choice for factory automation, marine, oil and gas, power utility,
railway transportation, road transportation, IP surveillance, water and wastewater,
and mining environments. As an industrial serial device server, the NPort 6400/6600 Series uses TLS and SSH to encrypt serial-to-Ethernet communications
and supports flexible operation modes such as Real COM, TCP Server, TCP Client,
Pair Connection, Terminal, and Reverse Terminal. With its compact design,
secure TCP/IP configuration options, and ability to consolidate multiple serial
connections in tight control cabinets or equipment racks, the NPort 6400/6600 Series provides engineers with a reliable, space-efficient way to modernize
serial connectivity without changing existing field devices.
